Life dance

Dance can explain everything you feel, mostly when it comes to deep feelings.

Well, this is my first entry in English. Actually I haven’t written in this language since my master’s thesis and of course, this is nothing even close to a paper. But on this matter my thoughts must be written in English, don’t judge me, I’ll do my best!

Ok, let’s think about the title of this post, starting by the idea that if life is a dance then music it’s time. Imagine each of your reactions being caused by music, you’ll take each rhythm differently and each song will reproduce an instant memory on your head.

With that clear, it´s time to start a story.

Instrumental music is playing letting you be in a quiet and comfortable environment. Floating is all you need at this stage and sometimes even just a bit of silence. One day, you wake up in the middle of a rock concert, everything is confusing and you have no clue where you are going. After a certain amount of hours, finally, there’s calm, thanks to the most amazing ballad this time accompanied by the sweeatest voice you have ever heard… till it leads you to sleep.

Each day there’s a new type of music which allows you to discover little by little your own pace. You try new steps with each genre and as in every dance, sometimes you just sit down because all you need at certain point is to get some rest. The only relevant thing is that the music won’t stop, even when your own dance is over.

One day at a bar, maybe the most elementary one in the city but the place where you chose to spend some time enjoying yourself and partying for a while. It doesn’t matter the music genre, your heart is beating to the rhythm of your happiness, confidence and gratitude and that can’t go unnoticed while encouraging someone else to step close to you and join your dance, at least for that piece.

At that exact moment your favorite song starts playing…it seems that both of you enjoy it on the same way, with the same intensity, even when just one of you know the lyrics. Another song, and another, and another, different artists walk out the playlist while letting your moves start to be clearly syncronized.

What an amazing night!

Something that is hard to experience and just music can lead to it. It does’t matter the language nor the origins, the flow was given by the music played at that elementary bar in the city.

From now on, each new song that relates to that encounter is added to your playlist and just like every song played that night it starts giving shape and meaning to your own soundtrack. Now i’ts just that: a playlist that you already download and play each time you want to feel that awesome emotion that remained for a few hours but as soon as you hear it again it’ll give you goosebumps while your brain and soul will be teleported to that one bar, that one night.

New parties have come, new moves kept being added to this dance which evolves with new songs and genres.

Winter is close and music is getting soft. Today is jazz night, just a random jam session near the canal, time to reconnect with that special night where some dance moves started this soundtrack.

The music started low and minute by minute it seemed to be a whole orchestra playing, leading the pace really close to the one of two hearts beating. I can’t really recognize if at this point the music intensified or stopped. The only thing I can tell is this: that one night at that one bridge it’s now the leading song of the playlist.

Now, new songs keep being added to this composition, some of them were shared and others just thought about. The nicest thing on this work is that each piece on this soundtrack has its own pace and meaning while listened by one of them.

Music keeps playing and traveling long distances, now there are no limits and the only thing that needs to be remembered is to not mixed up Chopin’s Mazurkas with his waltz, and just take pleasure in subtlety. That’s it!

Just play it and feel it.
